School districts approve teacher contracts in face of lackluster state funding

Unlike the two percent salary and benefits increase last year, teachers in the Ellsworth-Kanopolis-Geneseo USD 327 and Central Plains USD 112 school districts didn’t receive a 2 percent salary and benefits increase. This year’s teacher negotiations yielded much less. The reason — Gov. Sam Brownback and the Kansas legislature.
