We’d like to publish your historic photos in the paper

It’s important to get history right and — fortunately — here in Ellsworth County we have residents who either remember or have researched the past. That became apparent this past week when three local residents called to correct information on the Oct. 22 Passages page. We misidentified the building in the photo below. The towering structure behind the Honor Roll of Ellsworth County veterans is the Fairchild Grade School, which stood on the same site as Ellsworth’s current elementary school. The church, also featured on the Oct. 22 Passages, was the St. Paul Lutheran Church, north of Ellsworth.
