EMPORIA --- The undefeated Lady Oilers of Central Plains won the 2A State Volleyball tournament Saturday over Christian Heritage Academy of Olathe in three sets at William Allen White auditorium in Emporia.

The Lady O’s hit the courts determined to take the championship and kept focused at a high level of play against some quality teams.

This is the third straight State championship for the Lady Oilers, as they also own the 2013-14 and 2014-15 2A State basketball titles. The Lady O’s finished last basketball season with a perfect record also.

The Oiler Backers were out in force, braving road construction and long  highway detours in the Flint Hills to make the games.
