Pancakes pay the bills

For youngsters at Wilson’s United Methodist and First Presbyterian churches, the smell of grilled pancakes and sausage means one thing — it’s the opening day of pheasant season. Saturday, as volunteers for the churches’ joint youth group took orders and served customers in the dining room of the Methodist Church annex, Jerry Florian and Debbie Whitmer had charge of the kitchen, where Jerry cooked and Debbie kept an eye on organization.
