Banking Food

Thanksgiving Day marks the start of the Christmas holiday season — traditionally known as the season of giving. In that spirit, the Independent-Reporter visited food banks in Ellsworth County to update our readers on their status. Here is what we found:
Ellsworth County Food Bank
“We were really kind of slow at the first of the year, but things have picked up,” said Nancy Bircher, director. Bircher said visits to the food bank have increased from 20 in February to 47 in October.
