Thanksgiving proves an icy holiday for Ellsworth County residents

Old Man Winter had Ellsworth County in his icy grip during the long Thanksgiving Day holiday. The icy weather caused cancellations of several local events, including most church services, classes at area schools, and the Ellsworth-Kanopolis Chamber of Commerce “Follow the Star” holiday event Monday evening in downtown Ellsworth. Executive director Carol Kratzer said the “Follow the Star” event will not be rescheduled because of too many other events happening in December.
