‘Cats are undefeated

LINCOLN — The Ellsworth Bearcat basketball team scored a first round victory, 58-57, over Phillipsburg in the Amos-Morris George Stephens Classic basketball tournament Monday in Lincoln. The Panthers grabbed a 19-14 lead in the first quarter, but the ‘Cats scored 15 points while holding Phillipsburg to 14 for a 33-29 halftime score in favor of the Panthers. Ellsworth shaved the Phillipsburg lead to three points by scoring 11 points and holding the Panthers to 10 in the third stanza.
