ST. JOHN — The second-ranked 2A Central Plains Oilers broke a four-year drought with a 55-48 upset of two-time defending 2A State champion and top-ranked St. John-Hudson Dec. 15 in St. John. The win also broke the Tigers’ 63-game winning streak — a new Kansas high school boys’ basketball record set Dec. 12 in the St. John win over Larned.
