Ellsworth County basketball teams do well on the road.
BELLEVILLE — The Ellsworth Bearcats and Republic County battled in a NCAA league match with ‘Cats coming out on top by a score of 39-29.
The Lady ‘Cats fell to the Lady Buffaloes by a score of 48-27 in the girls’ game.
GLASCO — The Lady Dragons are known for close scoring games and the 37-35 win over Southern Cloud County was no exception.
The seventh-ranked 1A Division II Dragons defeated the Warriors 60-50 in a Northern Plains league matchup.
MACKSVILLE — The top-ranked, undefeated and two-time defending champion 2A Lady Oilers of Central Plains were far too powerful for Macksville, as they cruised to a 75-23 win.
The top-ranked 2A O-men also had a quick workout, defeating the Mustangs 73-27.
ELLSWORTH — The Ellsworth Invitational wrestling tournament begins at 9 a.m. Saturday in the Bearcat Lair.
