ELLSWORTH — The Lady ‘Cats put one in the win column by a score of 38-24 over the Lady Knights of Sacred Heart in a Homecoming game at Ellsworth.

 

The Ellsworth Bearcats did not fare as well against second-ranked 2A Sacred Heart, losing the Homecoming game by a score of 64-35.

 

LINCOLN  — The Lady Dragons defeated Tescott by a score of 52-36 in the first round of the Northern Plains League tournament in Lincoln.

 

The seventh-ranked 1A Division II Dragons had a bye in the first round and did not compete.

 

CLAFLIN — The top-ranked, undefeated and two-time defending champion 2A Lady Oilers of Central Plains were far too powerful for Victoria, as they cruised to a 54-22 Homecoming win.

 

The Lady Knights played a tough first quarter, but the Lady O’s dominated the second stanza, putting the game out of reach within the first four minutes of the period.

 

The top-ranked 2A Oilers pummeled second-ranked 1A Victoria by a score of 74-28. The Knights managed to get into double digits in the final seconds of the second quarter.

 

Head coach Brett Rolfs rotated his bench en mass by the first two minutes of the fourth quarter, but the O-men kept pulling away.
