Budget won’t go away

The 2016 legislative session opened with some apprehension as we welcomed one another back to Topeka after a very tense end to the last session. The governor laid out his plans for a handful of topics in the state of the state, careful to avoid budget and tax issues. While he and a few others are predicting a short session with little controversy in an election year, leaders in the House have stated simply that we have work to do and we will be in session as long as it takes to make that happen.
