Wednesday’s roundball tournament updates

Cardinal Winter Jam

HOISINGTON — The Ellsworth Bearcats came from a 15-point deficit at the end of the third quarter to lose a 57-53 battle Tuesday against a 1-7 Cardinal basketball club Tuesday at the Cardinal Winter Jam basketball tournament in Hoisington.

The boys will play a good LaCrosse team at 8:15 p.m. Thursday at the Activity Center in Hoisington.

The Lady ‘Cats struggled against a quality Lady Leopard team as LaCrosse won the first round game 63-33.

The Lady ‘Cats will meet a resurging Victoria basketball team at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the Activity Center in Hoisington.

Northern Plains League Tournament

LINCOLN --  The Wilson Dragons defeated Tescott, 56-44, Tuesday at the Northern Prairie League tournament in Lincoln.

The Dragons will compete in the fifth-place game against Rock Hills in the late game at Lincoln Grade School.

The Lady Dragons were defeated by Lakeside 63-43 in the girl’s bracket.

Wilson will compete against Natoma at 3 p.m. Friday at Lincoln Grade School.

St. John Winter Classic

ST. JOHN — The undefeated and top-ranked 2A Oilers will play Ness City at 4:45 Thursday and will play Pratt at 8:15 on Friday at the high school in St. John.
