Beryle Irene Adams

     Beryle Irene Adams was born May 9, 1919, to William and Sadie (Bulmer) Supple in Michigan Valley, Kan. She died Saturday, Jan. 30, 2016, at Aldersgate Village in Topeka, Kan., at the age of 96.
     She grew up on a farm northwest of Michigan Valley and graduated from Michigan Valley High school in 1937.  She went to California in 1939 where she worked for several companies then moved to Wichita, Kan., in 1941 where she worked for Postal Telegraph and later Cessna and Beech Aircraft during WWII and Walker Air Base near Hays, Kan. It was during this time she met and married Edward Somer of Wilson, Kan. They made their home in Wilson, helping run the Somer Hardware Store with Edward’s dad, and became sole owners in 1955. Edward died in 1969, and Beryle ran the hardware store business until 1973 when it was sold. She became an agent for Eschbaugh Advertising in 1972 and worked in that business for 15 years. Beryle married Henry Janousek in 1975 and they enjoyed many years together in their retirement. Henry died in 1988. Beryle renewed her friendship with Charles Adams, a longtime friend, and they were married in 2000. They moved to Lincoln, Neb., where they made their home at the Legacy Terrace, an Independent Living facility.  They both enjoyed sports and attended many football, basketball, and baseball games.  Charles died in 2003. Beryle moved to Topeka in 2013 and resided at the Aldersgate Village until her death.  
Beryle played the organ for the First Presbyterian Church in Wilson for 33 years. She is a past matron and life member of Holyrood Chapter 420 Order of the Eastern Star.
     Beryle was preceded in death by her brother, Harold Supple, three sisters;  Corinne Supple, Lura Weddle, and Hazel Hoover, and one nephew.
     Beryle is survived by 11 nieces and nephews.
     Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 5, at the First Presbyterian Church in Wilson. Friends may call from 9 a.m. until service time at the church. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.  
     Interment will follow at the Wilson City Cemetery.
     Memorial contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church or the Dr. Charles H. & Beryle I. Adams Scholarship Fund in care of Foster Mortuary, 610 24th St., Wilson, Kan. 67490.
