Days after proposed legislation that would have mandated countywide school district consolidation failed in committee, local legislators said they see signs of compromise — or at least a willingness to listen — something that has been in short supply in recent legislative sessions. “I do think the temperature in the room has changed,” Sen. Richard Wilborn, R-McPherson, said Saturday.
