Postcards symbolize another era

The postcards, carefully preserved in plastic sleeves, are picture perfect — even after more than a century. Some contain humorous messages. Others showcase the Garden of Eden at Lucas and other area landmarks. All reflect on the life of Mary Jezek, who received the cards during her time as a maid at the Ira E. Lloyd house, east of Ellsworth. Several weeks ago, the collection with nearly 100 cards was acquired by a lifelong Ellsworth resident.
