Sauers named warden

Long-time Ellsworth County resident and Kansas Department of Corrections employee Marty Sauers is the new warden at the Ellsworth Correctional Facility. The promotion was effective June 19. Sauers, who was appointed deputy warden at ECF in January 2014, started with the department more than 27 years ago as a corrections officer. He worked his way through the ranks, as a corrections counselor, unit team manager and classification administrator.
