Wilson Winners 4-H club receives grant
The Wilson Winners 4-H Club received a grant from the Smoky Hill Charitable Trust Foundation for a community service project to landscape the flower planters at Memorial Park and the Opera House in downtown Wilson. The members and parents met Sunday afternoon May 15 to remove shrubs, mulch, landscape fabric, and soil from the existing planters. Bags of soil and compost were then spread in the planters. Following the design created by a landscape designer, the members planted Karl Forester Grass, Home Run Shrub Roses, Stella Daylilies, Carpet Roses, and May Night Salvia before spreading mulch.
