KANOPOLIS — Kanopolis mayor Rusty Bunch informed the sweltering crowd surrounding the basketball court Saturday in Kanopolis Park that the 2016 Kanopolis Volunteer of the Year “came as a pair this year.” “Whether it be the historical society’s hamburger feed, soup supper, Fort Harker Days or their church — they are always there to lend a helping hand,” Bunch said. “Our town is so fortunate to have a couple who have for years volunteered their time, strength, sweat and energy to make it a better place.
