Caboose moved to home near depot

The Ellsworth County Historical Society’s historic Union Pacific caboose is now resting west of the refurbished Terra Cotta Depot in downtown Ellsworth, thanks to the efforts of city administrator Scott Moore, Maico’s Dave Cox, and volunteers from the historical society. The caboose, constructed in 1909, was placed on its former location in the winter of 1967, said Marvin Bush, a railroad buff and local historian.
