Clerk’s race goes to the wire

The outcome of the race for Ellsworth County clerk could be decided Monday when commissioners review 68 provisional ballots. With all 25 precincts and advance ballots reporting, incumbent Shelly Bettenbrock Vopat, D-Ellsworth, was ahead of challenger Marie E. Ranker, R-Ellsworth by 64 votes, 1,349 to 1,285.
