Ellsworth’s new police chief hit the streets running

After a few weeks on the job — and his third meeting of the Ellsworth City Council as a department head — Ellsworth Police Chief Emil Halfhill pulled into his driveway one day from work and realized things were falling into place. “I felt like I was starting to catch my stride,” he said. It had been a hectic start. Or, as Ellsworth fire chief Bob Kepka teased him at a council meeting, “He didn’t realize he was into the Bermuda Triangle.”
