Knights upset ninth-ranked Oilers

SALINA — The ninth-ranked 2A Oilers of Central Plains were upset by Sacred Heart, 51-37, Dec. 20 in Salina. The Oilers scored first, but the Knights had a 4-2 lead with 6:24 left in the first quarter. Brett Liebl’s free throws knotted the game 4-4 with 4:23 left on the clock. The O-men pulled ahead with a charity shot and two field goals but the Knights battled back and made it a 9-8 ballgame by the final minute of the period.
