Lady Oilers destroy Sacred Heart

SALINA — The top-ranked and three-time defending 2A champion Lady Oilers easily defeated the Lady Knights of Sacred Heart, 87-25, Dec. 20 in Salina. The Lady Knights scored a bucket on their first possession of the game to get a 2-0 lead. The Lady O’s got on the board with Emily Ryan scoring a bucket and charity shot giving the Lady O’s a 3-2 lead at the 5:54 mark of the first quarter. Janae Ryan’s trey began a 14-0 Central Plains scoring spree before Sacred Heart found the bucket with 2:35 left in the period for a 20-4 tally. The Lady O’s added six points before Sacred Heart could score again. Central Plains had a 32-6 lead before a Lady Knight made a 3-ball to end the quarter with a lopsided 32-9 score.
