Ugh ... sick children

By Jamie Rathbun

“Mommy, I think I’m going to be sick,” my 9-year-old, Kate, tells me over Christmas vacation. Oh no, here we go again. I had spent all day the day before caring for my 3-year-old, Warren, and a few days before that it was my 7-year-old, Wes. Why can’t my kids be great at sharing other things, like toys or TV time? The truth is, no parent wants their child to get sick, ever. But if you are a “cup half full” kind of person, you will be happy to know, each time your child gets a little cold or a mild case of diarrhea or vomiting, their bodies will start to recognize the illness and learn to fight it off more quickly the next time.
