Greg Heller awaits word on kidney transplant surgery at Kansas City

April Rowland was 7 years old when Greg Heller met her 27 years ago in Houston, Texas, where he worked alongside her dad for years as a police officer. Now, all these years later, Rowland has become Heller’s lifeline. In December, she volunteered to donate a kidney to Heller, who has been on the transplant list for a year.
