Norton defeats ‘Cats

RUSSELL — Third-ranked 3A Norton defeated Ellsworth, 67-30, in the second round of the Russell 3A sub-State basketball tournament Friday in Russell.

The Bluejays scored 14 unanswered points in the first quarter and added 22 point while holding the Bearcats to eight to have a 36-8 halftime lead.

Norton scored 14 points and the Bearcats scored 11 in the third stanza to set the score at 50-19 in favor of the Bluejays.
