Rapidly moving fire threatens Wilson

Exhausted volunteer firefighters from Wilson and Ellsworth donned their gear again Tuesday morning to extinguish hot spots and flares from a grass fire that started at Wilson Lake and jumped Interstate 70 before it was brought under control.
Ellsworth County remained under an extreme grassland fire warning Tuesday; however, the extended forecast contained a hint of relief. Wichita metrologist Ross Janssen had rain in his forecast for late Friday and early Saturday. Central Kansas has gone weeks without significant moisture.
