Voters renew tax
Ellsworth County voters Tuesday approved the renewal of a 1/2-cent sales tax that will go to support the replacement and maintenance of county bridges and improvements at the Ellsworth County Medical Center.
Tuesday’s vote was 294 “yes” to 55 “no” with all 26 precincts reporting.
“I feel real good,” county commissioner Kermit Rush said. “I was concerned about it because if it didn’t pass, we would probably end up raising the mill levy.
