State website offers information on sales tax exemption for fencing purchased as a result of wildfires
The Kansas Department of Revenue website went live Thursday to address state sales tax exemptions for fencing purchased by those affected by recent wildfires.
The site is ksrevenue.org/wildfires
Sales tax refunds are available if a purchase has already been made. There also is an option to apply for an exemption certificate so tax isn't paid at the point of sale. Forms and other information are available on the website.
Gov. Sam Brownback signed the sales tax exemption legislation into law Wednesday afternoon.
