Ptacek-Patton engagement

Janell Ptacek, daughter of Ron and Virginia Ptacek, rural Russell, Kan., and Clay Patton, son of Pepper and LaRay Patton, Limon, Colo., are pleased to announce their engagement and wedding plans. The ceremony will be held at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Colby, Kan. Nov. 11, with Fr. Richard Daise and Fr. Justin Palmer officiating.

Janell is a 2014 Graduate of Wilson High School in Wilson, Kan., and a 2016 graduate of Colby Community College with an Associates of Applied Science in veterinary technology and a certificate in artificial insemination. She is a veterinary technician at Swartz Veterinary Hospital in Colby.  

Clay is a 2013 graduate of Genoa-Hugo High School in Hugo, Colo., and a 2016 graduate of Colby Community College with an Associates of Science in ag economics, Associates of Arts general studies, Associates of Applied Science of farm and ranch management, a certificate in beef cattle science and a certificate in artificial insemination. He is a farm broadcaster for Farm and Ranch Radio Station KXXX in Colby.

Grandparents of the bride-to-be are Phyllis Holmes formerly of Garden City, Kan. and currently of Oakland, Calif. and the late Vern Holmes; Flossie and Tony Malsom, formerly of Russell and Collyer, Kan. and currently of Great Bend, Kan.; and the late Ernest Ptacek who lived at Russell.  

Grandparents of the groom-to-be are Ginger and Kenny Becker, Arriba, Colo. and the late Bill and Lola Patton, who lived at Punkin Center, Colo.

After the wedding ceremony, the couple will reside in Colby.
