Steven K. Vondra (1955-2017)
Steven K. Vondra, 62, passed away Saturday, Dec. 2, 2017 at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita. He was born March 4, 1955 in Ellsworth to Frank W. and Jean (Merrill) Vondra.
Steve was a longtime resident of Ellsworth County where he was a farmer at the family farm in his early years. Later on Steve worked in the oil field and as an over-the-road truck driver. He was a faithful believer in Christianity.
Steve is survived by his step-mother, Mary Jane Vondra of Geneseo; brother, Frank D. Vondra (Jeri) of Little River; brother, Dan Vondra of Kanopolis; sister, Kathy Kruse of Salina; sister, Kristi Vondra-Rohn of Ellsworth; brother, Kevin Vondra of Pratt; step-sister, Cheryl Minnis of Hutchinson; step-sister, Kathy Gross of Michigan; step-brother, Scott Peterson of Gypsum; uncle, Charlie Vondra of Ellsworth and numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; nephew, Frank Ryan Vondra; step-brother, Kenneth Peterson; and step-sister, Judith Lawless.
A Celebration of life service is at 12 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 30, 2017 at the Kanopolis Community Center.
