Wilson center taken over by state

The Wilson Care & Rehabilitation Center is under new administration after Kansas officials moved this past week to protect more than 800 vulnerable residents of 15 financially-troubled nursing homes.

“There was a smooth transition,” Angela de Rocha of the Kansas Department for Aging and Disability Services said Tuesday. Residents at the 50-bed Wilson center and others across Kansas suffered no disruption in care or services, she added.
