James Clifford 'Jim' Homan


 James Clifford “Jim” Homan, 74, of Ellsworth passed from this life into the presence of his Savior, Monday morning, March 26, at the Ellsworth County Medical Center.
Jim was the sixth of 12 children, born to Clifford A. and Louisa Z. (Mefford) Homan of Fairbury Nebraska. He and Penny (Ahrens) were joined in marriage July 28, 1973 at Weeping Water, Neb. They moved to Ellsworth, Kan. in 1975. To this marriage were added two children, James C. “Jimmy” Homan II Oct. 19, 1974 and Debbie C. Homan March 25, 1976. Jim worked various jobs, including ABCO Wire and Metal in Russell Kansas and EL-KAN. He  retried from the Kansas National Guard after 27 years of faithful service. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Wilson.
He is survived by his wife Penny, children of the home, Debbie and Jimmy, as well as two daughters, Bethel Schussler and Missy Robinson, both of Omaha, Neb.; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild; a brother, Morris Homan Sr.; and sisters, Alma Delprior, Esther Rice, Thelma Rahe,  Lois Gipson, Jolean Smith and Rita Homan.
The funeral service was April 5 at the United Methodist Church in Weeping Water, Neb. with burial and military honors at St. John’s Cemetery, Nehawka, Neb.

Hammons Family Funeral Services of Weeping Water, Neb. was entrusted with the arrangements.
