Historical society to showcase new center

Inside the Ellsworth County Historical Society office, one of three inner doors is usually closed to the public. Behind it lies an assortment of centuryold archives, including marriage licenses, birth certificates, and files on specific families and individuals. In just over a week, on Sunday, May 6, the room will be open for a short period of time during the society’s open house, after a ribbon-cutting ceremony. Then, due to the rarity of the materials in the society’s collection, the door will close again.
