Harold Dean Prochaska (1938-2018)

 

Harold Dean Prochaska, 79, passed away on June 1, 2018 in Lake Havasu City, Ariz.
He was born on July 24, 1938 in Ellsworth, Kan. to Charles H. and Helen Rose Prochaska. He joined the United States Navy in 1956 and was honorably discharged in 1960 at the rank of EM 2nd Class.
Harold married his soulmate, Dorcas Joann Jiles, in 1959 in Bloomington, Calif. They celebrated 59 years of marriage this last March.
He joined the Union IBEW Local 47 in 1963 and then started working for Southern California Edison Co. He retired from Edison with 35 years of service as a Trouble Man. Harold was a member of the Blythe Trap & Skeet Club and enjoyed shooting with his entire group of club friends. He was also an avid bird hunter of dove, quail and geese. He loved four-wheeling in the desert. Being raised on a farm in Kansas, he liked to drive around and look at all the fields to see what was planted.
Harold is survived by his wife, Joann; two children, Charles H. (Lisa) Prochaska and Gayle A. (Greg) Anderson; seven grandchildren, Chad, Dallas, Brooke, Lauren, Shawn, Bryon and Jeffery; one great-grandson, Haven, and his brother, Lloyd C. (Georgia) Prochaska of Ellsworth, Kan.
He will be greatly missed by all that knew him as a family member and friend. He was always there to help when he could. ‘Respect’ was his motto.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday, June 11, at Frye Chapel. A reception/luncheon will follow after the chapel services at the Colorado River Fairgrounds.
