Lillian Urban (1923-2018)

Lillian Urban, 95, passed away Monday, June 25, 2018 in Ellsworth. She was born June 25, 1923 in Barton County to Frank and Josephine (Malir) Zelenka.

Lillian married Richard “Dick” Urban in Sylvan Grove Sept. 12, 1948. While Dick farmed, Lillian spent her time as a farmwife and homemaker. She was also a member of Eastern Star. They moved to Ellsworth in 1961 where she was a member of the VFW Auxiliary and the First Presbyterian Church. She worked as the head of housekeeping at the Ellsworth Hospital.

Lillian is survived by her husband, Richard “Dick” Urban of Ellsworth; daughter, Kathryn Foran (Roger) of Ellsworth; grandchildren, Anita Fuller (Terry), Ray Foran, and Pamela Hays (Tim); six great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Elmer Zelenka; and sisters, Ruby Janda, Irene Miller, Rose Yusta, Helen Erhardt, and Edna Burkhead.

Visitation is from 1-8 p.m. Thursday, June 28, at Parsons Funeral Home, Ellsworth with family present from 6-8 p.m.

The funeral service is at 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 29, at Parsons Funeral Home, Ellsworth.

Burial is at 2 p.m. Friday, June 29, at the Sylvan Grove Cemetery.
