State throws another curve ball at school district

HOLYROOD — What began as a discussion by members of the Central Plains USD 112 board on the relationship between a proposed bond election and four core board goals soon moved to a discussion of financial and budget concerns.

Even the spectre of possibly — NOT probably — closing a school in the district was raised.

“I think we need to go back to Goal B, and that is to operate within a fiscally responsible budget,” said Michelle Brokes, board president, during the meeting at Central Plains Elementary School at Holyrood.
