Mud volleyball, duck races and children’s fishing tournament make for a busy, wet weekend

The 8th annual Mud Volleyball tournament was Saturday, Aug. 11, at the Wolverine Sports Complex sponsored by Marquette Recreation. There were 14 teams that participated, with the championship game between Getting Dirty and The Old People, with the Getting Dirty team winning a best-of-three match for the championship.

Two duck races were also held, with Jeremy Elbert having the winning duck in the first race and Saundra Myers winning the second race. Each race was a split-the-pot, with half the money donated going to the city recreation department and the other half going to the winner.
