Wanted: Playground benefactor for west side of Ellsworth

As a girl growing up in west Ellsworth, Pauline Zvolanek only saw the vacant lot in her neighborhood used when the circus came to town and needed a place to set up or her father’s baseball team had a game.

Now, more than 70 years later, Carol Hicks, a resident of Zvolanek’s old neighborhood, said the still-vacant lot is used only five weeks a year by city soccer players.
