Gary Paul Nowlin (1948-2018)

Gary Paul Nowlin, age 69, of Ridgedale, Mo., passed away Sept. 8, 2018 in his home surrounded by family. He came into this world on Nov. 29, 1948, to his parents, Neal and Georgia (Norwood) Nowlin in Picher, Okla.

Gary proudly served in the U.S. Air Force in Vietnam. He enjoyed walking at the lake with his dog Chelsea, boating with his family, and attending and watching Oklahoma Sooner sporting events. A hard worker, Gary worked for the Union Pacific Railroad for 35 years. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather for his family. Gary will be missed by many family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Rita Gay Carswell, and Gloria Jean Nowlin.

Gary is survived by his wife, Nancy Nowlin, of the home; two children, Jessica Nowlin, of Lewisville, Texas, and Derrick (Breck) Nowlin of St. Joseph, Mo.; two grandchildren, Rajon Howard and Jesiah Howard; brother, Jack (Sharon) Nowlin of Bedford, Texas; sister, Linda Kay (Brad) Frederking of Wilson, Kan.; brother, Neal (Caroline) Nowlin of Kanopolis, Kan.; sister, Caroline Sue (Steve) Brubaker of Ellsworth, Kan., and several nieces and nephews.

Service information is being determined by the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Gary’s name may be made to the American Cancer Society.
