Oiler defense shuts down Victoria in 8-man showdown

Since 2014, the showdown between 8-Man and Central Prairie League powers Central Plains and Victoria has been an early-season tradition. Last year, the Knights held the Oilers to a single touchdown in a 34-8 win to open the season. Friday night Central Plains got its redemption with a 32-8 win over Victoria.
“The whole game we brought it a lot more than we did last week,” said Oiler senior Alex Hickel. “We had our swagger back. It felt pretty good to hold them to eight points. They’re a good football team so that’s pretty hard to do.”
