Trash will cost more to collect

Council expands target area for neighborhood rehabilitation program

Ellsworth residents will soon be paying more for their twice-a- week trash service.

At the Dec. 11 meeting of the Ellsworth City Council, approval was given to a request by Mike Slechta of Slechta Enterprises to increase the rate from $14.10 to $14.25 — a 1 percent (15-cent) increase, effective Jan. 1.

Slechta requested the increase because of the higher cost of annual operations and maintenance in order to maintain the current level of service.
