Oiler boys pull away from Ellinwood

Few teams have found a way to slow the Central Plains boys — winners of their last 32 games entering the Dec. 18 year-end contest at Ellinwood. The Eagles held Central Plains to just 43 points but the Oilers still cruised to a 43-21 win.

The stall began in the second quarter. By then, Central Plains already led 17-9 thanks to an eightpoint first quarter from Brett Liebl and nine combined points from seniors Devin Ryan and Alex Hickel.

With Ellinwood moving the ball around the perimeter in search of an opening, the teams combined for just 10 points in the second quarter.
