The family of Eugene C. 'Doc' Jarus invite you to share in his 90th birthday celebration of a life well lived, at a come and go reception from 2-4 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, at Eaglecrest Retirement Community, 1501 E. Magnolia, Salina, Kan.

Doc was born Jan. 16, 1929, in Wilson, Kan., to Emil and Mayme (Soukup) Jarus. He attended Fort Hays State University and the University of Kansas. After serving as a commanding officer in the U.S. Army, he attended dental school in Kansas City, Mo., during which time he married Lucille Marie Ney June 8, 1957, in Wilson. They settled in Ellsworth, where he practiced dentistry for 30 years, retiring in the early 90s. He and Lu were active members of the St. Bernard’s Catholic Church and many other area clubs and organizations. They moved to Eaglecrest in 2015.

Sadly, Doc lost the love of his life April 7, 2016.

Doc’s daughters, Melanie Davis and Amy (Ken) Stonebraker, will be hosting the reception. In addition, Doc has six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
