County oks establishment of rec district
The Marquette City Council met for its regularly monthly meeting at 7 p.m. June 14 at Marquette City Hall. Several residents attended, some just to observe the meeting. Sue Schlegal and Michael J. Fox of Lindsborg were introduced by Dori Weber to the council. Each council member received a copy of the new Prairie Trail Scenic Byway brochure as Sue explained the purpose of the Kansas Byways and how the Prairie Trail Scenic Byway is represented by community members from each of the locations along the byway. She also explained the management plan that the group has worked countless hours to help promote tourism along the byway.
