Land of guns and ammo
By Jerry Marsh
In contrast to the mass murder of 49 people in Orlando, Fla., I want to draw readers’ attention to another murder. Just hours prior to the deadly rampage in Orlando, a young mother in New York City paid the full price for our dumb-gun policies. Saturday evening, June 11, 2016, Jessica White, age 29, became another meaningless statistic in the daily slaughter administered in the land of guns and ammo. While she watched her children playing in a neighborhood park, she heard shots fired, she rushed to protect her children, a stray bullet killed her, and her children received a hard lesson in the Second Amendment right to bear arms as they watched their mother die (their ages: 3, 5, and 9).
