Third annual Scout Spirit 5k Run/Walk

The dawn of June 25 was sultry with humidity, but it did not deter 23 runners from participating in the third annual Scout Spirit 5K Run/Walk, sponsored by the Boy Scouts of Troop 84. Former Bearcat cross country runner Josh Rankin — who is the current Abilene cross country head coach — won the overall event and the men’s division with a time of 17:43.
