Ellsworth’s ‘Pep’ Shanelec serves as Cowtown Grand Marshal

Ellsworth’s legendary football and track coach, Gail “Pep” Shanelec, will repeat as the 2016 grand marshal at Saturday’s Cowtown Days. “Yes, I was surprised when they told me,” said Shanelec. “I told them I had been the grand marshal 12 years ago and they had better re-check that decision with the committee. They called me back and said I was it.”
