What a difference a day makes. In sharp contrast to Friday’s high humidity and temperatures in the 90s with rain in the late afternoon, Mother Nature smiled on Ellsworth’s annual Cowtown Days celebration Saturday, with a brisk, cool north wind and the thermometer reading 68 degrees as the first parade entries made their way down Douglas Avenue. “It’s the coolest Cowtown we’ve ever had weather-wise,” said Kenny Castor, Cowtown Parade announcer. “I’ve announced this parade when it was well over 100 degrees and I’ve announced it when it was cooler — but never this cool. This is awesome.”
