Shooting will prove costly to county

A 35-year-old man remained in a Wichita hospital under guard Monday afternoon after being shot by Ellsworth County Sheriff ’s deputies during a confrontation several days earlier southwest of Ellsworth. The man, Alberto J. Garcia y Tapia, faces a three-count complaint in Ellsworth County — felony fleeing, felony aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, and felony driving under the influence.
